about the artist
|
I have been working with wood in one way or another for most of my life. I gained a little experience tuning wood in college, but the real love for turning started in 1980 when I had the opportunity to attend a weekend workshop in Dallas with a master wood turner, Bob Stocksdale. That was the turning point as to the direction I wanted to take to express my feelings toward the wonderful media of wood. I get great satisfaction in turning a variety of forms such as hollow turned vessels, cremation urns, bowls, various sculptural forms, wine stoppers, fan pulls, tops, and what ever else comes to mind. You can usually see me demonstrating at the Folk Art Center in Asheville, NC and the Parkway Craft Center (Moses Cone Manor House where part of the movie, "The Green Mile" was filmed) near Blowing Rock N.C. in July and October. Contact me for the exact dates. To view the different categories of my tunings, click on the images above or select from the bar below. Thank you for viewing my site. Proudly calling Huntsville, Alabama home since 1957.
